Katy qualified as a Solicitor in 2003 and is a highly experienced advocate both in Criminal and Family Law Proceedings. Prior to joining Welch & Co in 2008 Katy worked in London & Cardiff before returning to West Wales with her family, initially being based in South Pembrokeshire.
Katy has a wealth of knowledge in all areas of criminal law and has successfully represented clients charged with offences ranging from multi-handed drug conspiracies, robbery, child neglect, serious assaults and sexual offences as well as summary only offences such as criminal damage and public order matters. She is an experienced advocate and regularly appears before magistrates courts in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.
Police station accredited, Katy is able to deal with all aspects of your case from point of arrest to trial. Katy is a member of the criminal litigation panel and a duty Solicitor both on the Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion schemes. Katy is also the committee member for West Wales within the Criminal Law Solicitors Association (CLSA), the National representative body for Criminal Solicitors. She has recently accepted the roll of Vice Chairman for the CLSA (2023).
Katy has extensive experience representing individuals in relation to matters of Fraud and Financial Crime. Katy trained in a large City firm specialising in Criminal Financial Matters, and has achieved positive outcomes for a vast number of clients accused of Fraud and related offences throughout her legal career. As such, Welch & Co. are very well placed to assist and represent you in dealing with any such allegations brought.
Katy has experience in all areas of matrimonial and family law. A member of Resolution, Katy is committed to dealing with cases, sympathetically, pragmatically and professionally. In addition Katy has experience in local authority care proceedings and regularly represents parents and grandparents involved in those proceedings. Katy regularly appears before the family proceedings court and county courts in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.
Katy is a supervisor within the Welch & Co. Conveyancing Department, taking an active role within the department as well as being the head of Wills & Probate within the firm.
