About Welch & Co.

We offer private client services and have extensive experience in Conveyancing and Will and Probate matters. We are also able to offer publicly funded services in the areas of Criminal and Family Law where we offer specialist advice from accredited Solicitors.

Established in Cardigan in 1985, we are ideally based to offer legal services to our clients in Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, covering a wide geographical area in West Wales.

Free first interviews are available on request to establish whether legal aid is available for the service you require.

Home visits can be arranged by appointment.

The Welch & Co Team

Katy qualified as a Solicitor in 2003 and is a highly experienced advocate both in Criminal and Family Law Proceedings. Prior to joining Welch & Co in 2008 Katy worked in London & Cardiff before returning to West Wales with her family, initially being based in South Pembrokeshire.

Lauren studied for her Law Degree and Legal Practice Course at Aberystwyth University, working initially in Llandysul, before joining Welch & Co in 2016, becoming a Director in 2019.

Dani studied for her Law Degree and LPC in Swansea School of Law, being admitted to the role in 2011. Dani joined Welch & Co in 2018, having previously worked with our Katy Hanson in South Pembrokeshire. Whilst all of our Lawyers divide their time across all of our sites, Dani heads up the Welch & Co. South Pembrokeshire Office.

Stephen qualified as a Solicitor in 1979 and has a mixed caseload of criminal law litigation and conveyancing, probate and administration of estates.

Sarah is a highly experienced Family Solicitor, having been admitted to the role in 1994. Working across the South West, Sarah has a wealth of experience in all aspects of Family Law, both private and publicly funded.

Shaun undertakes all aspects of residential conveyancing matters and commercial transactions, with particular experience of agricultural land transactions. Shaun has expertise in unregistered land and adverse possession claims.

Helen qualified as a Solicitor in 2005, and has extensive legal experience in Wills, Probate, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Tax matters. Helen joined Welch & Co. as a Consultant Solicitor in 2019, having previously worked with our Dani Busby & Katy Hanson in South Pembrokeshire. Helen is available to meet clients /take instruction at any of our offices, as well as being available to make home visits by prior arrangement.

Mark is an experienced accredited police station representative, and regularly represents people accused of serious crimes. Mark is a dependable and robust legal advisor.

Daniel is graduate of Oxford School of Architecture, and spent the early part of his career working in London as a Project Management Consultant, initially within the banking sector, then latterly in South Wales responsible for the delivery of significant Capital schemes for NHS Trusts, Local Health Boards and local authorities.

Claire is the accounts manager for Welch & Co having previously worked for HMRC. Claire is the first port of call for any financial matters.

Rebecca is a graduate of Aberystwyth Law School with a degree in Criminology and Psychology. Rebecca works predominantly within the Criminal Law Department as an Administrator, whilst training as a Paralegal to directly support our Directors Katy Hanson & Lauren Bayley.

Administrator / Trainee Police Station Representative

Zoe holds a Law degree and very recently completed the LPC. Zoe joins us as an Administrator working across all Legal Departments within the business.

Hannah works predominantly within the Family Law Department, supporting the Family Law team. Working closely with our Lawyers on files, she is often available to speak with and assist clients in the event of Lawyers being unavailable.

Lucy recently completed her Law Degree, and will commence the LPC in Cardiff later this year. Until then, having undertaken work experience with the firm, Lucy joins us in an Administration role, supporting fee earners across the business.
